Pantano Produce of today opened during the 1930’s in Chicago as J. Pantano and Sons Produce. Joe Pantano and his two sons Fred and Lee were well known throughout the food service industry of Chicago. Times change and family moved on. Fred married Sherri and they moved to Florida to start a family. In the 1960’s Joe and Lee moved at different times to Arizona. In 1966 Joe started selling mushrooms in Phoenix from a grower in Kingman. On thing led to another and in 1967 Pantano Produce was a full line produce company again. Joe retied. Fred and Sherri moved their family to Arizona in 1977 to take over the business. Pantano Produce is currently run by 3rd generation Pantano’s, Fred and Sherri’s children Antonio and Gina.
